In 1986 Breckenridge Ski Resort hosted the first ever World Championships of Snowboarding. When most other resorts in the nation were not letting snowboarders anywhere near their lifts, Breck welcomed them with open arms! All the riders came out after the slalom races and hand dug the first halfpipes ever seen...26 yrs. later Breck steps up and brings the old to the new!
